What kind of online marketing can my wife do for my furniture business while she is at home with the kids?
I need to know what kind of marketing, networking, email contacts, etc. that my wife can do from our computer while she's at home with the kids? I make and sell rustic handmade log cabin furniture, mostly on the Internet.
I work in marketing and have recently started a web site to help people learn about affiliate marketing.
Your wife can market right here on yahoo answers… do an advanced search for people asking questions about handmade furniture and if you have a website she can send them a link to your site.
Also, she can write articles and post on sites such as:
www.ezinearticles.com
www.isnare.com
www.articlesbase.com
www.amazines.com
www.articlecity.com
Have her attach the link to your site in the source box and before you know it you'll have lots of traffic, which means more sales.
You could also post on sites like craigslists and ebay.

Depending on her skill set she can develop brochures and postcards for direct mail campaigns(I recommend vistaprint.com for the printing…good work, low cost), maintain a website, answer e-mails, etc. The best think you can do here is buy books to learn web design, eBusiness, desktop publishing. Your online marketing campaign should be only one aspect of your business. Try leaving business cards around town at places like contractors specializing in log cabins, outdoors sporting good stores(think camping, hunting, fishing….the types who would buy log cabins), etc. Bottom line: The more people you reach, the better your business will do. Just remember to focus it on the right people.

on line advertising with such companies like google provide great marketing techniques known as "cpc" cost per clicks. you establish the keywords folks would search in order for them to land on your website. SEO optimization is extremely important in that your web pages need to have meta tags embedded in code where the crawlers and search engines at night can surf the web to find your products in order to promote organic click which are free and no charge to invite. Hope this helps.

Oh, I know of the perfect solution for you! Contact me as we are not allowed to post in here, yahoo thinks it's spam even though you asked for something specific.

To start with, if the scale is small, she can post to ebay, gumtree, graysonline where the fee is not expensive.
Also, can contact to your local newspaper to put the ads on.
Furthermore, she also can prepare a website for you , she can manage and update your range of products. After that ask for your friend network to forward this website around.
She also can make a call to offer to offices or prepare brochures to hand out.
Hope this helps.

Craigslist.com is another good place to list. However, you can't run a business there. You can post individual items for sale and then run your ad regularly as your supply moves. This offers you a LOCAL outlet where "shipping" won't be an issue and people can come view and pick up their own furniture. Good Luck!
